head coach : Elizabeth castillo
Elizabeth Castillo enters her fifth year as a head volleyball coach for the Knights. Castillo, a Peruvian native, participated in several volleyball tournaments representing her country.
In the United States, she played for Miami Dade College and Dickinson State University where she won many awards not only as a player but also as a student. Among the awards are: NAIA Volleyball Second Team All America in 2007, All- Region from 2004 to 2007, Academic Scholar Honor Roll from 2004 to 2008, All- Conference from 2004 to 2007, NJCAA Volleyball- First Team All America from 2004 to 2006, Most Valuable Player of the Tournament –Nationals in 2004 and 2005, Runner up National Tournament in 2005, and National Volleyball Champion in 2004. Castillo also holds a Master degree in Education Foreign language Instruction and two bachelor degrees: in Physical education and in Spanish education and a minor in coaching. As a coach of the Lady knights, Castillo led the DP volleyball to its first two regional appearances, 2004,2005, and number 4 in the region in 2016. Elizabeth's ultimate goal is to build a good volleyball program at Dakota Prairie and promote sportsmanship, fair play, leadership, and team-bonding. |
assistant coach: kimberley Slettebak
Kim grew up on a farm by Michigan and was a graduate of Dakota Prairie in 2012. Kim played volleyball all through High School where she developed a passion for the game as well as basketball and track. After graduation, Kim attended the University of North Dakota for a year and a half. In 2014, Kim transferred to Mayville State University where she is currently attending as a distance student while pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education and Coaching. Kim is currently employed at Lakota Child Care, Inc. as the lead infant teacher.
Kim is excited and eager to work with and learn from Coach Castillo in her efforts to build a volleyball program at Dakota Prairie. |
